Local Business Participation Program
White Rock Solar Farm is committed to local sourcing where feasible, the Local Business Participation Program will be a key initiative to identify capacity in the local community and maximise opportunities for local suppliers to participate in the project.
Stage one – Expressions of Interest
White Rock Solar Farm has been listed on the Industry Capability Network (ICN) Gateway here. Businesses with an ABN were able to register their business and submit Expressions of Interest (EOI) on the project page. A database of all EOIs submitted was provided to the main contractor.
Stage two – Further Information
An Industry Briefing was held in Glen Innes on Thursday 15 June. This provided local businesses with additional information about the available work packages and the process of bidding for subcontracting or supply opportunities with the major subcontractors.
Stage three – Engagement of Contractors
The main contractor may engage suppliers and subcontractors according to their normal procurement processes which may include tendering for particular work or negotiation of rates for particular work. Prior to engagement, businesses will be required to complete a pre-qualification approval according to the requirements of the main contractor. In some cases, this may include the payment of a fee to a third party for processing the pre-qualification application.
