The Project
White Rock Solar Farm Overview
White Rock Solar Farm is a 20 megawatt solar photovoltaic development located adjacent to the northern end of White Rock Wind Farm, 20 km west of Glen Innes.
The project is designed to benefit significantly from sharing part of the wind farm infrastructure, including the grid connection and access tracks. Co-location of wind and solar provides numerous benefits such as complementary energy generation patterns and reduced environmental impacts and project cost.
A program of site studies, impact assessments and concept design development were completed as part of Development Application that was lodged in March 2016. Development Consent for the project was granted in June 2016. For details around the Project Development Consent see here. Construction was completed in the second half of 2018 and the project has been operational since.
White Rock Solar Farm is owned by Goldwind Capital Australia Pty Ltd.
